Great to see you here for setting up a blogger blog using their overview build-in tools. Well, in my previous post on starting a blog I described you on how to create a blog using Blogger content management system. In this piece of words, I will tell you all build-in Blogger Tools to help you start playing with your Blogger blog efficiently and as an expert!
I am assuming that you have read my previous tutorial on creating a blog for free and then, you are inside Blogger environment. If you have done so, continue reading this useful tutorial for everyone who want to build up a blogger blog professionally. Lets start optimizing the Blog now with these available tools.
Step 1: When you are inside your Blog Content Management System. You will see options at left side - vertically - for your blog to be used while blogging online. In most cases these options are Overview, Pages, Comments, Google+, Stats, Earnings, Campaigns, Layout, Template and Settings. As we have newly created a Blog so, we are going to discuss and reveal the features of Overview Option within Blogger CMS.
Step 2: Get into the Overview > Blogger Guide ( Section ). Now, you have everything here to set the Blogger professionally without any hard and fast knowledge. I am going to tell you how to use all of those guides without reading them in details while getting the complete advantages through them.
First Guide: Blogger Template Designer
Blogger offers basic themes and styles which can help you to build more complex themes and more efficient style of your choice by combining the use of all options present within the Blogger Template Designer.
To get into the Blog Design go to: Blogger > Your Blog > Template ( From Side Options ) > Customize.
Blogger Template Designer is full of the tools you need to stylize your Blog for free. See the picture to check what you see when you enter customizing. Some of the features that you can implement using blogger designer tool are:
- Set the template of your blog from different templates for different niches websites.
- Set the background of your blog, either remove it or choose from many available high quality images on different niche or category for your backgrounds. Also, choose if you want background to be fixed or scrolling.
- Set the main color theme of your blog with a click only without modifying any code from edit template mode.
- Adjust the widths of your sidebar, main area, header and footer according to your needs. Make them full of contract them all over.
- Set the body layout of your blog from the given layouts. It's a very handy tool to set layout of your blog as it also enables you set the footer layout on the spot.
- Last but not the least! The amazing features are in Advanced tab! You can set link colors, text size, text styles, footer colors, header styles and colors, main area and sidebar, gadgets and much more through it with simple clicks!
- Advance options also enables you to Add Custom CSS which means you don't need to go to the coding instead you can put your CSS here while using it anywhere within the blog.
- You can preview changes live while making changes before applying it to blog. Moreover, if you have made changes but you are not sure to apply you can simply get back to blogger easily.
Second Guide: Share your Posts to Google+
Google+ is awesome when you really need visitors to your post instantly! I am a fan of Google+ sharing just because it allows you to share the post public! It is public! Not like facebook which just changes the post to public but never add it to the feeds of every Facebook user! Well, Google+ when shares the post to public it really does the task as mentioned.
On the Blogger when you publish a post, a pop up to share post to Google+ appears immediately after publication of your blog. It not only shares but also gives you the +1 stats and views in front of your posts.
Third Guide: Make Money with Your Blog
Blogspot by Google provides a decent way to earn through your blog without investing a penny on it. You have a domain by Blog spot, it can be your custom domain too. You are using Blogger content management system. You can apply for Adsense once your website is ready to apply and get approved.
