Google Hummingbird Algorithm – Google SEO – Well, in the era of advanced internet people often search on Google ranking factors and terms that are important to understand and applied. But there are less chances from the beginning that people get to know about the algorithms from start.
Search Algorithm
Search Algorithm term means the rule made by search engine to analyse different factors related to a website for that search engine. Those rules are prepared and are called Algorithms. Anyhow, it is not important nor allowed to know about the actual coding.
Google Search Algorithms
As Google is at top of the search engines so, we mostly talk about it to let people know about its major updates regarding search rankings. Google Algorithm updates are named by Google many times other than for very minor Google SEO Updates. For instance, Panda, Penguin and Hummingbird are Google Algorithm updates.
One of my fellow in the class, asked me about Google Hummingbird Algorithm and so, I thought of writing on it to let people know about it in easy words instead of technical language – which small webmasters can not understand easily to manage their website accordingly.
Google Hummingbird Algorithm
The term ‘hummingbird‘ is given to this Google Algorithm because of its preciseness and fast response to searches. This is what Google explains about this name. This update is specifically for search results and now, it has been more than a year that this algorithm is working with some updates up till now.
Some people think as if Google Page Rank term is no more in use by Google itself; instead, all searches are based on hummingbird algorithm. Well, to clear this page rank factor is included in one of the factors to calculate search rankings in hummingbird. So, it is still considered but just not displayed to people.
Google Panda and Penguin are such updates which were a part of Google past algorithms and now, hummingbird is rewritten using all those major updates that people used to know about. So, hummingbird itself is a comprehensive algorithm update for search results. Most probably, it consists of more than 200 important factors or updates which were previously used but in a refined form to increase the search performance up to the best level.
Some Noticeable Features By Google Hummingbird Algorithm
Conversational Search – It is one of the amazing update or feature I call! by Google. Well, usually in the past searches were displayed to the user by using matching terms techniques. For instance, user searched for ‘google hummingbird’ and so, all those sites are displayed in an order which are having this keyword but now, in hummingbird algorithm Google understands the question by the user and display results accordingly. For instance: if I search for ‘barack obama’ or ‘barack obama speech today’ then, it will response to only barack obama speech rather going to all sites to search for barack keyword, obama keyword and speech keyword – which may show you proper and improper searched definitely!
Conversational Search shows the results by taking the most nearest meaning of the search query as whole rather taking words or subsets of words from the sites – making search engine friendly!
Questionnaires about hummingbird has now calm downed by Google because, when this update was made public, serious authors and publishers including webmasters started questioning as if they will be drop out of the Google Search Rankings due to this update. But, Google responded well to all of us that there is not as such totally different which may change overall rankings instead it is just to improve user experience. So, for webmasters it was nothing else to write content according to the user’s requirement then to do only search engine optimization.
Besides this some people claimed that there traffic has been graphed down dramatically after this update then, this may be due to other ranking factors which are included in hummingbird. But, nothing has changed as whole with respect to previous search results algorithms.
Update! People are taking this as upgrade to Panga and Penguin which it is NOT. Google hummingbird is totally a new Algorithm which is using previous Algorithms. For those, who are worried about their website rankings are required to focus on user experience along with mobile-friendly designed content.
