Privacy Policy Generator term seems awesome when we are lazy enough to write a good privacy policy page but we never analysed on important factors regarding using free generators or plugins. Well, I did this accidentally and found something which can put our websites down in Google’s eye as fast as Google can!
Once, on my other site dedicated for tricks and tips I was sleepy enough to add a privacy policy page and so, I went for adding it using aprivacy policy template via some WordPress plugin. I queried Google to find some and then, I searched for some from add new plugin option within the dashboard. Firstly, I used Auto Terms of Service and Privacy Policy plugin but I wasn’t able to configure it although I gave all details they required so, I simply uninstalled it and then deleted. This plugin already had considerable number of install as shown in the picture below..
Here you’ll see how this plugin drops our search rankings by creating legal pages for us for free. Being logical, how for free such pages are available while they are most vital for companies!
I installed WP Legal Pages, accepted their terms of services, added information they required to generate privacy policy page and then, simply created it. Amazing! I got my privacy policy page within 1 minute! The page was awesome! I was happy to read that page but before posting I thought of checking it for little plagiarism. 20,000+ Active Installs! Well, I used Small Seo Tools platform to check out its plagiarism and found only 9% unique content! That means 91% existing content! – enough, to put our site down due to copied content and unfortunately on privacy page!, the page which is analysed specially by Google! – amazing eh? Conclusion!
My experience would NOT recommend you to use such free generators or such free tools that provide you content. Because, it is obvious that Google being in love with unique content will never like your page full of copied content and amazingly on the Privacy Policy page which should be according to your company or individual website. Using such auto privacy policy pages or even other terms of services, disclaimer pages can indirectly harm your website in many ways. Try not to use such pages as they’ll soon drop your users for whom you wanted the privacy page there on your website.
