Windows users keep changing their windows interface with available utilities and amazing features by Microsoft. A lot of tricks and shortcuts are available to all lovers of windows in order to provide user friendly interface. Among all those shortcuts, if you have altered your windows folder icons then, may be you want to restore them back! I have explained on how to restore default folder icon in windows 7 or similar. Restoring a windows folder icon is as easy as you change it manually.
- Locate the directory - also called folder - of which you want to restore the default icon.
- Right click the folder >> Click 'Properties'. Properties Options Box should appear.
- From the Top tabs, select 'Customize'.
- From the very last option see 'Folder Icons'.
- Click 'Change Icon' written below Folder Icons. Another box with a lot of icons should appear.
- Ignore everything else! Simply, click 'Restore Defaults' button placed at first position in the bottom options of the appeared dialogue box.
- Finally, Click 'Ok' in the Properties Box.
- Great! Your folder icon has been restored.
